Wineries & Breweries

Central Virginia is home to some of the best wineries and breweries on the East Coast. All of the places we recommend below are within a 40 minute drive of the Pine Creek Tiny House. You’ll find beautiful mountain views, live music, and events at all of these spots.

Blue Mountain Barrel House

Set in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains, Blue Mountain opened in 2007 as the region’s first rural brewery. Today, they’re still focused on making an inspired range of the highest-quality beers.

From April to November, you can find great eats in the Blue Mountain food truck. Pick a spot in the tasting room or out on the patio by the fire pits and lawn games for a great afternoon.

Pippin Hill Winery

A vineyard with a restaurant that’s worth the drive? You bet. And, it’s not just for the stunning view, or the breathtaking setting.

The North Garden vineyard nine miles south of town happens to serve world class food, too.  Owners Dean and Lynn Easton Andrews are nationally acclaimed veterans of high end-hospitality, and it shows.

The Tasting Room restaurant offers what Pippin Hill calls “vineyard-to-table cuisine” – a menu inspired by Pippin Hill’s wines, using produce grown on site. While there are lots of ways to enjoy a visit to Pippin Hill, our favorite is to spend much of the day there.

Delfosse Winery

Delfosse Vineyards & Winery is one of Virginia’s only European, terrace style vineyards. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and rows of picturesque grape vines, Delfosse Vineyards and Winery offers a stunning natural setting.

There is plenty to explore on the Delfosse grounds to spend the day, or you can combine this with a trip to Pippin Hill, just a short drive south.

Veritas Winery

Veritas Winery opened for business in June 2002 and has succeeded in consistently producing a range of complex and elegant wines. The idyllic setting is easy to find but hard to leave, located just off I-64 at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Veritas wines are all unique and of high quality, derived from vitis vinifera with the exception of one French hybrid. Our philosophy is to make wine with the classic, old-style principles of Viticulture and Vinification, at the same time using state of the art technology to capture varietal and regional character.
